First off the location of this dealership is excellent. If you need to kill time while your car is being serviced you can walk to BevMo, Pizza place, Big5, Valley fair or Santana row. I came into this dealership to buy a Used Subaru after searching online for a more than a month. This dealership had the best deals out of all the other dealerships i visited, which is why they sell their used vehicles quick, and are busy at times. There was competition over the one I got and I'm glad I was lucky enough to get it. They were also very accommodating (working with me over multiple weekends due to my hectic schedule) and knowledgeable as well (in terms of all things subaru and questions about differences in different year make/models). I am a very cautious/worrisome person by nature, and they were super patient with me with all my questions and slow decision making. Everyone I interacted with (salesmen, manager, finance, service, etc. were all friendly and non pushy too.
Just brought our outback in for an oil change and check up at 60,000 miles and the service was EXCELLENT thanks to MECCI. He honestly addressed all of our concerns, explained all of our options, wasn't pushy, tried to find us the best price/solution, and was very patient with us while we tried to discuss our options - even stayed after hours to help us solve our problem. We didn't end up using all of the services that the suburu technicians recommended because of the price of parts, but the next time we need our car serviced I will be requesting an appointment with Mecci for sure! Ask to meet with him if you want to work with someone who has your best interest when it comes to driving a safe, fixed car.
Let me start by saying that this Subaru dealership looks pretty small for one that carries the type of inventory that they do. First of all, I started my car buying process by looking for online inventory and getting in touch with multiple dealerships within the area to see if they have the car I want. Anyway, I got in contact with Shane from their internet sales department and he was very responsive and helpful in providing us with quotes that we requested. He even came in on his day off to send out a quote. Of course, as a responsible car buyer, we looked around at other dealerships and Stevens Creek Subaru beat all of their prices from Irvine Subaru all the way to Fairfield Subaru. Our online experience was great but their on site service was also stellar. Mr. Hamid helped by showing us the different options available, test driving, and completing the paperwork once we agreed on the price. Mr. Marsh was also very helpful in getting the paperwork started for us but I didn't realize that online sales cannot encroach on onsite sales so he had to turn it over to Hamid who originally showed us the vehicle in the lot. Anyway, aside from the usual waiting on filling out all the paperwork, everything went smoothly. They didn't try to push any additional options or services that would drive the price up. We were informed, but not pressured into anything. Once our new baby was ready to go home with us, Hamid walked us through all the features from bumper to bumper and even gave us added tips that we normally don't receive from other dealerships that we have purchased from in the past. Overall, we loved the hassle free and prompt experience we had with Stevens Creek Subaru and we would definitely come back when we are ready to purchase their WRX STI model. Thanks everyone for being so good to us!
Quick Summary: Great service rep (should be 4.5 stars) Cost of parts and labor too high (2 stars, but this may be a Subaru Inc issue rather than dealership issue) Went in for scheduled maintenance, where leaks in the axle boots were found. This resulted in an upsale, which I thought reasonable. But as more work was done, I basically had to replace the entire left side of the front axle. The quote went from $130 (for the original maintenance) to $550 (additional labor and parts for the axle boots) to $1500 (replacing the front left). My service rep Mecci did what he could to keep my costs as low as he could, as most of the $1500 went to parts rather than labor. I thought that Mecci was extremely helpful, and gave me a loaner car to drive for the 5 days that my car was at the shop. It just seemed that the Subaru parts were unreasonably expensive. I'm lucky that I am in a position to be able to pay the unexpected increase in cost, but this could have really hurt a lot of other people financially and seems irresponsible. I generally prefer to go to a Subaru dealer for scheduled service even though my car is no longer under warranty, but I would suggest for people to shop around if it comes to major repair items as the cost of parts and hourly labor ($130 an hour!!!) seem to be unreasonably high. Also, it feels like my car is pulling to the left, but I am hesitant to go back to Stevens Creek Subaru and may have a local repair shop take a look at it.
I definitely wanna share my wonderful car-buying experience at this facility which I did not expect at all. I've bought 2 new cars before, one was a luxury car and I've never had such well-catered service until I came here. I started off with an email quote online for a specific model where several dealers had replied back. I compared the different packages and prices and my guy offered me the best deal. when i came in to check out the car. he offered exceptional introduction on the vehicle. he was very patient in explaining every single feature, knowledgeable yet funny. this was the service i never experienced elsewhere. In the end, I got a good deal with a bunch of accessories at a bargain. My guy never came hard on me pushing for anything extra and offered me great advice for accessories I could get elsewhere. I felt his sincerity and I am happy to do business with him. My guy is Gurpreet Grewal!! I'd definitely recommend him to my friends who are interested in a Subaru. He really got you covered good. Great deal, great service and great advice. Thanks man!!
I wasn't expecting to receive world class service when I walked into this dealership. But that is exactly what I received. Let me explain. It was a hot September afternoon, the cool breeze of the air conditioner greets me as I walk through the entrance. As soon as my eyes land on the showroom cars, this adorable and friendly young man greets me with such enthusiasm! Was it towards the person behind me? No... He was greeting me--how un-car salesman-like of him! I knew nothing of Subaru, and this gentleman schooled me on everything. From the interior options, engine types, trim options, weather preferences, highway versus city... all the way to how easy the car maneuvers while the driver is also chomping down on an In 'n Out burger. This gentleman knew it all. Though I did not leave with a car, I left satisfied with the knowledge that this gentleman had provided me with. I can now make educated and pain-free decisions when it comes to my car-buying process. I forgot to mention, this young man's name is Daniel Tran. What a gem of an employee (he has amazing hair, you can not miss him). When you come here, ask for Daniel. You won't regret it!
