----------------------------------------------- Update (11/25/2013) ----------------------------------------------- Post my original review, I did receive several follow ups from the dealership to understand and address my grievances. I do appreciate the time and effort that they've taken to reach out to me and consequently I'm editing my rating for this place. Their new manager (Brian) talked to me extensively and explained some of the steps they've taken since my last bitter experience over here. I welcome the efforts and I would indeed be happy to reach out to him when I'm in the market for yet another Subaru (I love my car!) or any servicing needs that I may have for my Impreza. Cemal was the first person to reach out to me post my review. I just want to clarify that he's an extremely friendly and helpful person. I would definitely recommend him if you're in the market to buy a Subaru. He does go out of his way to answer your queries and follow up afterwards. I indeed feel sorry that despite all his efforts, I had to go to another place to get the same car. 3 stars for the effort and the followup. I plan to go for my next servicing at Stevens Creek. Hopefully I would've a better experience this time (and probably more stars post that!) ----------------------------------------------- Original Review ----------------------------------------------- This dealership is like within 5 miles radius of my home and it had the manual Subaru Impreza that I was looking for. Getting a manual car is pretty hard but getting the car with the all the features/specifications that you require is indeed a pain! The salesperson here in question was Cemal. He's professional and helpful (and I feel bad for him because he helped me a lot during my test drive and the follow up questions). However the manager at this place isn't at all friendly. I like to research my car and the prices and when I showed them that I got the same specifications from another dealer at a much lesser price, this guy was: 1. surprised 2. didn't believe me (at this point, I told them that I can show them my email chain). They in fact told me that probably the car that I was looking for wasn't available at the time frame that I had in my mind. (I eventually got the model with my specifications from another dealer on the same day itself) They finally agreed to match the price on the model that they had, however the "attitude" from the manager looked like he was doing me a favor. That pissed me off and I don't believe it's a way to treat your prospective customers. In fact, his words, while I was leaving was, "I wish you luck with your search, thanks for coming, I can probably sell this car at a much higher price than what I quoted to you". I'm assuming they probably have done that by now :) I believe the buying experience should always be a memorable one. My experience was far from that. I got the impression that the guys were more interested in running a credit check as soon as possible, rather than getting a deal done. It was more like haggling and pushing rather than memorable. According to them, they can "only proceed with a better deal" after they've run my credit check. Really? In fact, this experience has left me wondering about whether it's worth going to their service department. Probably they're good but I'm quite wary of having to go through people with attitude problem, especially managers....who're supposed to be problem "solvers" rather than "creators"
