I brought my brand new Outback to service on Thursday night with a flat tire. It was already after service hours so I dropped off the keys in their mailbox with description of the problem. On the next day I got a call from Troy that they don't have any replacement tires for Outback, so it will take till Monday to exchange it. I found it weird but decided to let the car there and wait. When nothing was happening on Monday I called them. I was redirected to a different person (who did not tell me his name), as Troy was out of office. This other guy told me that they replaced the tire but realized that my TPMS is broken. He told me they will check it again and he will call me in 1 hour, how much the replacement will be. When I did not get call within 2 hours, I called them back to realize that supposedly TPMS replacement is not covered with my extended warranty, so I will have to pay ~$200. I asked him how it is possible that the TPMS is damaged, when the nail was on the other side opposite to the tire vent. He again said, he would check it with the technician and call me back. Of course he did not, so I called them for the third time. He did not provide any information and said that I either have to pay the $200 or drive with a defect TPMS. I told him I would decide later about it and asked him to check my navigation system, which was not working properly either. On the next day I got a call from Troy, who had no idea about the navigation system problem, as the other guy did not note it and did not tell him anything. So I had to describe the problem again. Troy also said that they carefully examined the TPMS and they could not see any mechanical damage, so it would be a strong warranty case. However, they may need additional day to check the navigation and replace the TPMS. On Wednesday evening, 6 days after I dropped off the car, I could finally pick it up. Troy confirmed that everything was covered by my extended warranty. In the beginning I was very upset about the communication style with the other other guy, who promised 3-times to call me and he did not and who was claiming that despite my full, bumper-to-bumper extended warranty I have to pay $200 without knowing what or how it actually happened. However, Troy saved the situation and resolved the case to my satisfaction. I subtracted 1 star from the review, because an authorized Subaru service place does not have replacement tires for Outback and therefore it took 6 days to replace a flat tire.
