Steven’s Creek Subaru Review By A T.

I've had my Subaru for 4 years and have used three other Subaru dealerships across three states for service in that time. This one falls somewhere in the middle. I've only had experience with the service department and can not speak for the sales department. The basic services are a bit higher priced than I expected. They are also not as service oriented as I have experienced in with other Subi dealerships. That being said, I have used them several times and have been generally happy with the service. One rather extraordinary experience I had with Stevens Creek Subaru was shortly after I moved to the bay area. My car had been diagnosed with a problem with the "differential" just before I moved here. I did not have time for them to do the repair before I left so they put in some special lubricant to "help for a while" and when I got here, I took my car to Steven's Creek and explained the problem. Well, my car had *just* gone out of warranty *and* we could not duplicate the symptoms when test driving with the mechanic (that lube stuff was pretty good!). Despite all of this, Stevens Creek Subaru did not just fix the differential, they replaced the whole transmission system (which includes the "differentials")! And they covered it as a warranty repair! I would say they went the extra mile! Thanks Chris, Kevin and the team at Subaru Stevens Creek Service Dept.! I have been loyally taking my car back to them for routine service ever since. When there have been problems, I have brought them up with the service manager and they have worked with me to get them resolved to my satisfaction. It is worthwhile to mention that I generally think it is a good idea to *communicate* when there is a problem. I do not think it is right to come onto a public forum (like yelp) to complain about a business or person without first talking to them and giving them a chance to resolve your complaint first. Remember when Dad would tell you to confront the bully or Mom would tell you to go back and talk to your friend (after you had that fight...that you would later realize was pretty dumb to begin with). Most (but not all!) business owners/managers will go the extra mile if they know you aren't happy. And they will make corrections if they know what the problems are, but... we have to tell them first. Now, if we go through the effort to tell them and they still can't deliver, you bet-yer yelper, the gloves are off!
